Since this is a relatively new club, this post is about the future. This club will be dedicated, especially in the beginning, to the education of new members in Flash, followed by programming in C++, possibly scripting, 3D animation, or any other subject areas members are interested in learning about. Please note that no member of the club is obligated to learn anything. The idea is that members can learn what they want, when they want, to become effective members of a videogame development team.
The Club Library will be a collection of books that members bring in, relevant to the jobs of a videogame development team. I (Miles) will maintain the library, and keep it organized by subject. Our sponsor, Mr. Holland, has agreed to let us store the books in a closet in the business lecture hall. Members will be allowed to read the books during club meetings, and check them out (I'll also keep records of what books are checked out, and which ones are in stock).
Obviously, I don't expect everyone in the club to read every book. Instead, go where your intuition tells you. Read up on subjects you want to know a little bit more about. This way, we will eventually be able to program larger projects.
Also, I want to start this discussion sooner rather than later...should we have meetings during the summer, to increase our effectiveness and advance the larger projects?
NOTE: When creating a new post, there is a button at the top of the editor that says "Jump Break" when you hover over it. Put that near the top of your post, so it doesn't take up too much space on the main page. If you look at this post on the main page, you'll see what it does, and you can use it.
I could not find the "Jump Break" button, and I have a good idea but I don't know if I should post it all on the main page. Where exactly is the button?
ReplyDeleteThat button is two-thirds right on the toolbar above the editor.
